Congratulations to Omar Flowers for his persistence in securing a job with Upstate Hospital’s Environmental Services department. Omar first came to the ATTAIN Lab in May 2024 on the advice of a case manager at the Salvation Army. He was eager to find employment but had been out of the labor force for a while and wanted help navigating the complexities of an online job search.
Over the course of the summer and fall, Omar became a familiar face in the ATTAIN Lab as he worked on developing his computer, email, and typing skills, and with the help of ATTAIN staff, he applied these skills to his job search.
“Coming to a school environment is intimidating. Adjusting to all of this was scary, but Cody and Matt made me feel welcome and like I could accomplish anything.”
During the search process, Omar not only completed numerous online job applications, but also attended job fairs and prepared for several interviews, before finally finding a good fit with Upstate. Great work, Omar!
