Angela Bristol was referred to the ATTAIN Lab from the Ithaca Women’s Opportunity Center to assist with career exploration and technical training. She had been a stay-at-home mom for the last 18 years and felt nervous, scared, and overwhelmed when she started thinking about re-entering the workforce. Unsure of where to start, she was thankful to find the ATTAIN Lab.

The Syracuse ATTAIN Lab provided Angela with career assessments and employer review activities to help her consider different areas of employment for a long-term, stable career. Once we determined that a school would be a great work environment for her, we worked together to sharpen her technical skills and add credentials to her resume.

Angela completed training in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Google Docs and Sheets and increased her WPM through typing software. ATTAIN also helped Angela update her resume, write engaging cover letters, and navigate the Onondaga County school application system. Once Angela received an interview invitation, ATTAIN staff provided interview training and mock interviews to prepare her and increase her confidence.

Angela is now employed at Liverpool School District as an Administrative Assistant!
